Parcel Protect International Cover Summary

While CouriersPlease Pty Ltd will take all reasonable measures to ensure that your shipments are delivered safe and secure, please note that high-value items are shipped at your own risk. To enjoy peace of mind at a minimal cost when sending your shipments, you may take up our Parcel Protect International Coverage when you ship with the CouriersPlease International services set out below.

International Product Cover Options - Saver & Priority

Parcel Protect International:

  1. Parcel Protect cover is available at the premium rate of 1.0% of the covered value, including freight. For example, the premium is $10 for $1000 cover.

  2. The first $150 of each shipment is not covered

Maximum declared value per shipment (for Enhanced Liability):

  • $ 20,000 per article

 

Parcel Protect International Terms and Conditions

At CouriersPlease we provide our customers with superior parcel delivery services throughout Australia. Every year, we are responsible for the delivery of millions of shipments and it’s a responsibility we take very seriously. Whilst we always make every effort to ensure your item arrives on time and in good condition, occasionally things can go wrong.

Parcel Protect International extended warranty coverage offers customers cover up to AUD1,000 limit on all shipments, providing you with even more peace of mind at minimal cost. Things rarely go wrong but, if they do, this cover will ensure we can set them right for you. Parcel Protect International extended warranty cover is available at the premium rate of 1% of the covered value including freight.  For example, for $1000 cover the premium is 1%. An excess of $150 per article is applicable for every shipment.  The maximum declared value per shipment is $20,000 per article. Please note that Parcel Protect International only applies to goods transported outside Australia. When you choose Parcel Protect, you get:

  • Added peace of mind in the knowledge that your goods are covered;

  • Compensation based on the cost of repairing or replacing your lost or damaged goods; or the actual value at the time of loss of the lost or damaged goods which will be the invoice value of the goods, or where there is no invoice value, the market value of the goods taking into account the age and condition of the goods;

Please note that the standard limitations and exclusions of liability set out in the CouriersPlease Terms and Conditions of Carriage will apply to all claims for any loss of or damage to your goods if you do not purchase the CouriersPlease Parcel Protect International Coverage for your shipments. All other terms and conditions set out in the CouriersPlease Terms and Conditions of Carriage will continue to apply to the services provided by CouriersPlease to you.

The CouriersPlease International Parcel Protect Coverage does not cover the following goods:-

  1. any high value goods including but not limited to processed tobacco or tobacco products, bullion, precious metal objects, precious stones, precious jewellery, cash, gift cards, USB sticks (and documents stored on USB sticks), documents, birth certificates, travel papers and photocopied paperwork securities, valuable works of art, antiques; 

  2. artwork - includes canvas artwork, framed pictures, jerseys and photographs that contain glass;   

  3. mirrors;

  4. flowers;

  5. live plants and trees; 

  6. animals

  7. temperature controlled or perishable cargo; 

  8. vaccines or other similar medical or pharmaceutical cargo; 

  9. home contents or personal effects e.g. clothing, footwear, toiletries, electronic devices and travel items such as suitcases and backpacks;

  10. motor vehicles, aircraft, helicopters, missiles and similar goods;

  11. dangerous goods i.e. any goods specified as such in the current Australian Dangerous Goods Code (ADG) or in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) as amended from time to time and includes any cargo which may become a Dangerous Goods while in our possession or control for whatever reason.

The CouriersPlease International Parcel Protect Coverage does not cover loss or damage to your goods as a result of the following events or circumstances: 

  1. routine wear and tear or gradual deterioration; 

  2. inherent vice, ordinary leakage or ordinary loss in weight or volume; 

  3. defective or insufficient packaging of the parcel by you or your contractors or agents); 

  4. any Consequential Loss i.e. any indirect loss suffered by you which was reasonably contemplated by us. It can include but is not limited to loss of profit, loss of income, loss caused by delay or loss of market, or other economic loss.

 

Time Limits for Claims 

Any claim for loss or damage to the goods must be notified in writing to us within fourteen (14) business days of delivery of the goods or the date by which the goods should have been delivered, whichever is the earlier. Should we not receive any such notice in writing we shall be forever discharged from any and all liability to any person in respect of the goods. 

 

Third Party Claims

If you made your booking via a third party booking agent all claims must be made via that third party booking agent and not directly to CouriersPlease.

 

Excluded Countries

Parcel Protect International Cover excludes any shipment being sent to or emanating from Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Ukraine and Venezuela. Parcel Protect International Cover does not cover or benefit, and Couriers Please will not be liable to pay any claim to the extent that such cover would expose Couriers Please to any liability for a trade or economic sanction, prohibition or restriction under United Nations resolutions or any liability for a trade or economic sanction pursuant to the laws of Australia, the European Union, United Kingdom or the United States of America.
