     Queensland delivery Update

6th February 2012.

To all customers and staff

The rain has now stopped in Southern Queensland, however a number of major towns continue to be badly affected by swollen rivers and flooding west of Toowoomba. At present we are able to move freight as far west as Miles, with all locations west of these region (in southern Queensland) no longer accessible owing to flooding.

The following areas are currently seeing issues within Queensland, and may see delivery delays owing to existing road conditions. This is solely a guide only and is current only at the time of writing, and is subject to change at any time.

South East Queensland

1.    Sunshine Coast Hinterland – We are currently operating on a reduced (daily) service to this area.

Queensland Country locations

1.    The Flinders highway between Julia Creek and Cloncurry has closed again owing to heavy rainfall yesterday and overnight. Any freight sent out of or via our Brisbane depot on the 30th January will be held in Townsville until this route reopens again.

2.    The towns of Blackall and Tambo are currently inaccessible owing to surrounding floodwaters.

3.    Charleville, Cunnamulla, Roma, St George are now inaccessible owing to severe flooding closing the highways west of Miles. The main towns of Dalby, Miles and Chinchilla are still accessible.

4.    Heavy rainfall and flood waters from Queensland are now moving into Northern New South Wales. Barraba, Moree and Wee Waa have all been heavily affected by flooding.

5.    Cape York is now in Monsoon season and any freight bound for Cape York are now only able to travel on barges from Cairns, owing to road closures.

Our Contractors will only be offering deliveries if it is safe enough for them to do so. Owing to safety concerns we are unable to cross any flooded roads in order to complete any delivery. In the event that we cannot complete your delivery owing to flooding, we will reattempt delivery once the flood waters have receded and it is safe to deliver your goods.

We thank you for your patience over our wet season if your consignment has been affected by these weather delays. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
